On International Men’s Day, Saturday 19th November 2022, we were proud to celebrate the one-year anniversary of launching Ask Marc, our new support service for men in the Black Country affected by interpersonal violence.
Ask Marc offers men living In the Black Country specialist support around rape and sexual violence, childhood sexual abuse, grooming and exploitation, domestic abuse, stalking, forced marriage and so-called “honour”-based violence. Ask Marc sends out a clear message of hope telling victims you don’t have to deal with it alone: someone is here to listen.
The lead for our Ask Marc department said:
[We want to] respond in a way that made that barrier worth surpassing and their silence worth breaking.
Rape and Sexual Assault Awareness training session
For its anniversary we are launching a Rape and Sexual Assault Awareness training session. It is for members of the public and professionals and is a short awareness course on male rape and sexual violence.
This brief e-learning course is designed for anyone who wants to learn more about how men are affected by rape and sexual violence, including childhood sexual abuse, and how they can access specialist support through the Ask Marc service. We want to break the stigma of sexual violence and support men to speak out. We want men to know that they are not alone, there is confidential support available.
